Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of compositing a seamless eyeground image with little sense of incompatibility for grasping, etc., of an affected part from plural eyeground images of identical subject, which enables to grasp the vessel course of the eyeground and the chorioidea.
SOLUTION: Two images of the eyeground are superposed making cross points and branch points of blood vessels, etc., as feature points and linear transformation of image is carried out (S112) only on prescribed width inside areas of images abutting on a joining border line on both sides centering the joining border line of eyeground images passing through the positions of feature points. Thus a seamless composited image is obtained from small amounts of calculation and memories. In the linear transformation, blood vessels, etc., are refracted in not higher than 40° against the original image so that impression of seamlessly joining on the joining border is not lost. Because of that, a searching range to find out corresponding points within the length of a local area with prescribed width is limited to both sides centering on the joining border line (S111).
