Abstract:
In a transmission method according to one embodiment of the present invention, header information containing MP4 configuration information, the content of which differs in accordance with whether the presentation time of the sample data is determined, is added to sample data, and when metadata corresponding to the sample data is not transmitted, header information that does not contain MP4 configuration information is added to the sample data in accordance with whether the presentation time of the sample data is determined. Thus, it is possible to provide a transmission device and a reception device with which the configuration of the device can be simplified and the amount of processing performed by the device can be reduced when data is transferred using a method such as MPEG Media Transport (MMT).
