A transmitting side interface and a receiving side interface are connected through a transmission line, the transmitting side interface includes sequence number inserting means 41 to 44 for inserting sequence numbers attached to Ethernet frames from output buffers 31 to 34 into preamble areas where the sequence numbers are to be attached to the Ethernet frames, idle areas directly after the Ethernet frames or idle areas directly before the Ethernet frames, and the receiving side interface includes sequence number extracting means 71 to 74 for extracting the sequence numbers from the Ethernet frames, and an output control means 9 for rearranging the Ethernet frames from the sequence number extracting means 71 to 74 in order of the sequence numbers and outputting the Ethernet frames as a data stream.
