PURPOSE: To advantageously vary an angle with an optical axis by lessening the attenuation of light having a large angle difference between incident light and exit light of the transmission type screen which projects and displays the image displayed by a display body by magnifying the image with a projecting lens.
CONSTITUTION: Reflection type prisms 21 having the vertex angle α formed by intersection of surfaces 22 on which the incident light 1 is made incident and surfaces 23 on which the incident light 2 advances rectilinearly and falls are formed on the incident surface of the transmission type screen 20, on which surface the light 1 from the projecting lens is made incident at an elevation angle θ1. The surfaces 23 of the reflection type prisms 21, on which surface the incident light 2 advances rectilinearly and falls, are formed as reflection surfaces 24 to reflect 3 the light to the outgoing surface 25 side. The reflection surfaces 24 are provided with the critical angle and are formed of thin films constituted by vapor deposition of reflection materials. Further, the assembly of the reflection type prisms 21 is sectorially formed around the orthographic point where the perpendicular from the focus of the projecting lens intersects with the extension plane of the screen.
