The receiver receives an integrated services digital broadcast (ISDB) signal which is digitized, packet processed and multiplexed various information such as video and sound signal together with additional information such as control information. The receiver is provided with an ISDB tuner 54, a demultiplexer means 65 demultiplexing the ISDB broadcast signal into video information, sound information and facsimile information, a menu pattern generating means 70 decoding menu image information to display a database menu onto a monitor, a decoding means 72 decoding the facsimile information, and a printer 74 making a hard copy from the decoded facsimile information. When the user designates transmission of the facsimile information through a telephone line, the information is sent part of the ISDB broadcast signal and the receiver decodes it and to allow the printer to make a hard copy from the corresponding information. Thus, the information in request is directly hear-copied from the broadcast signal without the use of a telephone line.
