Abstract:

To enable a reproduction side to perform normal reproduction even if multiple channels are transmitted selectively in a compressed or uncompressed state and down mixing on the reception side is selectively allowed or inhibited.

An ATSI includes a 1st identifier indicating whether or not multichannel data in an audio packet are compressed and a 2nd identifier indicating whether or not the multichannel data are allowed to be mixed down into two stereoscopic channels.
