Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent or a semi-transparent antiperspirant composition, free or almost freer from water by adding a mixture of a silane and a polyol to an antiperspirant salt such as a chlorine salt of Al, Zn, etc. CONSTITUTION: This transparent antiperspirant composition is obtained by blending 5-15wt.% of an antiperspirant salt selected from the group consisting of a hydrated chlorine salt of Al, Zr and Zn, a hydrated bromine salt of Al, Zr and Zn and their mixture with 5-30wt.% silane of formula I (R<1> is a 2-5C alkyl or a 6-18C aryl; R<2> is a 1-5C alkyl), (e.g. propyltrimethoxysilane) and 60-95wt.% polyol of formula II (R<3> is a 2-6C alkyl). The method of a preparation thereof comprises making an aqueous solution of the antiperspirant salt, heating the solution, add a mixture of the silane and the polyol thereto, further heating and further adding a gelling agent as desired.
