To provide a transparent film for a display which, when used in a pen input type touch panel, can give an input touch similar to writing on paper with a pencil.

The transparent film includes a transparent substrate film and a coating layer formed on at least one surface of the transparent substrate film, in which the total light transmittance of the film is adjusted to at least 85% in accordance with JIS K7136, and the surface profile of the coating layer is adjusted to a maximum height of rolling circle waviness profile (W_EM) of at least 15 μm in accordance with JIS B0610. The transparent film is disposed on the outermost surface of a display in a pen input-type touch panel. The coating layer may contain microparticles and a binder component. The average particle diameter of the microparticles may be 1 to about 5 times the thickness of the coating layer. The binder component may further contain a thermoplastic elastomer.
