PURPOSE: A transparent molded article having high transparency, improved chemical resistance, heat resistance, and mechanical resistance independently of molding conditions, obtained by injection molding a polyundeca (or dodeca) methylene hexahydroterephthalamide.
CONSTITUTION: Polyundamethylene hexahydroterephthalamide or polydodecamethylene hexahydroterephthalamide (having 1.5W5.0 relative viscosity) consisting of a repeating unit shown by the formula (n is 11 or 12) is injection molded preferably at 310W370°C, to give the desired molded article. The polymer can be obtained by feeding equimolar amounts of salts of undacamethylenediamine or dodecamethylenediamine and hexahydroterephthalic acid to a polymerizer, polymerizing them in a molten state at 310W360°C.
