PURPOSE: To enhance searching and discriminating functions, by applying ON/ OFF control to a receiving radar pulse at a predetermined cycle using a delay wire.
CONSTITUTION: A transponder is constituted of a transmitting-receiving antenna 1, a transmission/reception change-over switch 2, a microwave delay wire 3, a microwave amplifier 4 and an oscillator 5. The switch 2 has function cyclically connecting the output of the amplifier 4 to the antenna 1 on the basis of the control signal from the oscillator 5 and the cycle of the change-over control signal from the oscillator 5 is set so as to be sufficiently smaller than the pulse width of a receiving radar wave and determined so as to repeat transmission and reception plural (1/2 duty) times in said pulse width. The total delay time of the delay time of the delay wire 3 and the signal delay time in the amplifier 4 is set so as to coincide with the transmitting period determined by the control signal from the oscillator 5. By this method, the delay amplifying output of the radar wave received in each timing of a receiving period is transmitted from the antenna 1 in the timing of each successive transmitting period.
