PURPOSE: To transport works in different types efficiently by allowing each work to support a transport block having a member to be in engagement with the work and a common member to be in service in the same position as a transfer device at the time of location.
CONSTITUTION: When works W in many different types such as cylinder blocks of an engine are transported on a rail 1 by a transfer bar 2, each work W shall bear a transport block 8. This transport block 8 has an engagement member to be in engagement with, for ex., the bore of the work W and a common member 9 to be in engagement in the same position as a detent pawl 3 of transfer bar at the time of location of the work W. Provision of a variety of transport blocks 8 in accordance with the types of works anticipated to be used will assure effective transport of works.
