To provide a transport device capable of shortening an operation time, reducing the number of parts and conducting stable positioning.
The transport device includes a grip means 11 for detachably gripping a first article 110 arranged at a first position T1, a hold means 12 for movably holding the grip means 11 in a direction X which is parallel to a transport direction of the first article 110 and having a vertical movement means 13 for vertically moving the grip means 11, a moving means 103 for moving the hold means 12 from the first position T1 to a second position T2, a positioning means 14, arranged between the first position T1 and the second position T2, for positioning the first article 110 to establish a predetermined positional relation with the hold means 12 while the first article is gripped by the grip means 11 and a stop means for stopping the grip means 11 to move relatively for the hold means 12.
