A traveling device 1 includes: pneumatic tires mounted to a vehicle 100; an air pressure adjustment device for adjusting the air pressure within the pneumatic tires; and an air pressure control device 20 for increasing the air pressure within the pneumatic tires to a level higher than a standard air pressure when the travelling speed of the vehicle 100 is less than or equal to a predetermined speed. The air pressure control device 20, increases the air pressure within the pneumatic tires to a level higher than the standard air pressure, when the vehicle 100 is being accelerated, and sets the air pressure within the pneumatic tires to the standard air pressure, when the vehicle 100 is being braked.
