Abstract:
To obtain a traveling wave tube reducing stress on a waveguide part and using a vacuum envelope in which the waveguide part has excellent accuracy, and also to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a traveling wave tube equipped with a vacuum envelope which is formed by stacking a ball piece having an inner diameter formed of a cylindrical magnetic material, and a cylindrical non-magnetic material with the same inner diameter as the pole piece, which are alternately arranged in the tube axis direction, and a coupling part to be coupled with the waveguide, which is installed at the end part. The coupling part is constituted of the pole piece and the waveguide and an outer wall of the waveguide is in contact with the ball piece. At a place in which the waveguide is in contact with the pole piece, the thickness of the outer wall of the waveguide is constant over the tube axis direction of the waveguide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
