To obtain a treating agent for a cloth, capable of imparting a suitable touch feeling and a soft feeling to skin to the cloth and a treated material for the cloth, and to provide a method for treating the cloth.
This treating agent contains (a) 1-10wt.% swelling clay mineral with (b) 0.01-20wt.% water-soluble polymer or an aqueous emulsion such as a cellulose derivative, a polymer containing a sulfonic acid group of its salt, a polymer or its salt obtained by using one or more kinds of monomers having at least a vinyl group and/or an aromatic group and also a sulfonic acid group, an aqueous emulsion obtained by copolymerizing a lower fatty acid vinyl ester with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a copolymerizable monomer therewith, and further as necessary, (c) 0.01-10wt.% water-insoluble silicone having 0.01-10μm mean particle diameter of the dispersed particles.
