Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of a harmful, offensive odor gas components which are mixed with vapors when discharged simultaneously into a vapor discharging pipe and controlling the BOD or COD concentration of condensate to reduce its load on environmental pollution, by specifying vapor flow rates in the vapor discharging pipe. CONSTITUTION:The photographic process waste liquids remaining in an evapora tor 1 are subjected to vapor concentration by heating with a heating means 2. During this time, vapor flow rates in a vapor discharging pipe 9 connected to the evaporator 1 are maintained constantly within the range of 0.1-10m/sec, preferably 0.3-1.0m/sec. This leads to a reduction in the amount of harmful, offensive odor gas components such as sulfureous acid gas which is mixed with the vapor in a simultaneous discharging from the evaporator 1 to the vapor discharging pipe 9 and the BOD or COD concentration of the condensate formed by gradually cooling the vapor in this vapor discharging pipe 9 is con trolled, thereby reducing the load of the condensate in environmental pollution.
