Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method which enables effective utilization of food remainder as feed and fertilizer through fermenting and drying processes by effectively removing components of malodor generated by fermenting with a relatively simple device and, at the same time, recovering a by-product.
SOLUTION: This treating method comprises the fermenting process S1 and the drying process S2. Therein, further, a neutralization and recovering process S4 where malodorous gas generated in the fermenting process S1 is brought into contact with an alkaline aqueous solution and is exhausted, and organic acid contained in the malodorous gas is dissolved in the alkali aqueous solution and is recovered is disposed.
