PURPOSE: To obtain a treating and preventive agent for peptic ulcer, containing a cyclohexane derivative as an active ingredient, having low toxicity as well as excellent antiulcer activity and particularly useful also for ethanol or serotonin ulcer.
CONSTITUTION: A treating and preventive agent for peptic ulcer obtained by blending a cyclohexane derivative expressed by the formula (X is =C=CH-, ethynylene or vinylene; Y is oxo or OH; R1, R3WR5 are alkyl; R2 is H or organic residue) as an active ingredient with a carrier, excipient, diluent, etc., and formulating the resultant blend into a pharmaceutical by a conventional method. The dose thereof is 0.1W1.5mg as the compound expressed by the formula per by day for an adult administered once W in several divided portions. 1-(2-Hydroxy-2,6,6-trimethylcycloheylidene)but-1-en-3-ol is exemplified as the compound expressed by the formula.
