Title:
TREATING URBAN GARBAGE DISTILLED RESIDUE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5527041
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Urban garbage is distilled in dry condition to be made in glassy residue and transformed in products to prevent harmful metals from being dissolved. Further, carbon residue is completely burnt to reduce volume to be treated.

CONSTITUTION: Dry distilled urban waste residue is mixed with glass scrap and charged in the melting furnace 10 from the inlet 9. Fuel is burnt by air in heating port 4a and jetted in the furnace 10. Inside the furnace 10, heat radiation vitirifies material which is agitated by bubble and convection, allowing part of carbon to form colloid and coarse carbon to be floated on top of glass to be burnt. Melted glass is transferred to the working furnace 12 and cooled, then formed into pellets. The pellets nearly perfectly trap harmful metal, not allowing them to be dissolved out and reduce volume to be treated.
