To provide a method for treating bamboo acetic acid to obtain a safe bamboo acetic acid by removing injurious formaldehyde and acetone contained in the bamboo acetic acid obtained on the production of bamboo charcoal, and to provide a treating device therefor.

This method for treating bamboo acetic acid comprises charging a bamboo acetic acid raw liquid obtained on the production of bamboo charcoal into a distillation pot 1, heating the charged raw liquid at a liquid temperature of 40-50°C, sucking off the evaporated formaldehyde and acetone by the use of an aspirator 7, raising the temperature of the raw liquid, and subsequently distilling and condensing volatile components having boiling points of >60°C by the use of distillation and condensing means 10, 11 to obtain the bamboo acetic acid.
