Abstract:
To provide a treatment apparatus and a treatment method which enable power generation and desulfurization treatment in anaerobic treatment of treated materials, as well as to improve the electrode reaction efficiency and utilize sulfur components generated by the electrode reaction.SOLUTION: There are provide a treatment apparatus and a treatment method, and a sulfur-containing substance generator connected to the treatment apparatus, the treatment apparatus comprising a reaction part for removing sulfur components in power generation and/or treated water by bringing electrodes into contact with treated water after the treated material has been treated anaerobically, and sulfur removal means for removing sulfur components deposited on the surface of electrodes in the reaction part. According to the present invention, the reaction part using electrodes enables efficient power generation and desulfurization treatment in a series of treatment processes. Furthermore, the means to remove the sulfur generated on the electrode surface prevents the electrode reaction efficiency from decreasing and enables the efficiency of the power generation and desulfurization process to be improved. In addition, the removed sulfur can be utilized as a beneficial sulfur-containing material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
