PURPOSE: To remove 2,6-di-t.-p-cresol (hereinbelow referred to be as B, H, T) harmful to a human body by bringing exhaust gas containing B, H, T into contact with water at specific temp. or lower.

CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas containing B, H, T is brought into contact with water at 30°C or lower, for example by using a bubbling type scrubber 1 using a perforated plate 7. As a result, B, H, T harmful to a human body in the exhaust gas is condensed by the mutual action with water to be suspended as a white solid in water. By this method, B, H, T contained in the exhaust gas can be removed with high efficiency.
