Abstract:
To provide a method for processing a biomass material which enables the biomass material to be reduced in volume, and to be carbonized at an extremely low cost.SOLUTION: After a biomass material is places into a container, the container is (a) supplied with an oxygen-containing gas at 3.4-33.6 g-Ohkg-AFSin by terms of oxygen supply amount, (b) the container is held at 0.9-1.0 MPa, (c) an initial temperature is set at 80-160°C to start the processing of the biomass material on heating from outside: When the temperature of the biomass material exceeds the initial temperature on biomass self-heating, the biomass material is spontaneously heated up to a temperature exceeding 160°C, while maintaining the supply of oxygen-containing gas and the container internal pressure, by stopping heating from outside, or by keeping heating to such a control that a temperature difference between the temperature of the biomass material and the temperature of a surrounding space of the container body may be within 1.5°C to continue reaction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
