Title:
TREATMENT METHOD USING NITROGEN MONOXIDE PRECURSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013040176
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for treatment or prevention of a nitric oxide production decrease caused by next-best urea cycle function.

A therapeutically effective amount of a nitrogen monoxide precursor selected from a group of citrulline, arginine, and combinations thereof is administered to a subject suffering from a disease related to a decreased production of urea cycle intermediate, or being exposed, or just anterior, to an environmental stimulation related to a decreased production of urea cycle intermediate. More specifically, the administration is transvenous or oral, and the next-optimal urea cycle function includes a decreased production of urea cycle intermediate.
