Title:
TREATMENT OF OLEFINIC MALODOROUS GAS BY SULFURIC ACID TREATED TRANSITION METAL OXIDE CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07256058
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove olefinic malodorous gas by using a solid ultrastrong acid catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: Olefinic malodorous gas of high concn. is catalytically burnt in small gas vol. in the presence of a solid ultrastrong acid catalyst obtained by treating titanium hydroxide prepared from titanium alcoholate with sulfuric acid. When oleflnic malodorous gas is catalytically burnt in the presence of the titanium type solid ultrastrong acid catalyst at reaction temp. of 350°C at gas spatial velocity of 1000 (1/hr) or less, an olefin removing ratio of 95% or more can be kept over a long time.
