PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer with reduced energy consumption, by polymerizing ethylene, etc. in hydrocaron solvent, supplying the produced slurry to a filter holding a slight amount of polymer particles on the filter surface, and recovering the polymer particles as a wet cake.
CONSTITUTION: The polymerization reactor 1 is charged with a monomer such as ethylene, propylene, etc. through the line 2, a 3W5C hydrocarbon solvent through the line 3, and a ziegler-Natta catalyst, etc. through the line 4, and the homopolymerization of ethylene or propylene or the copolymerization of ethylene, etc. and other olefin is carried out. The produced polymer slurry is, if necessary, washed, and supplied continuously or intermittently to a filter 6 having a filter face holding a slight amount of polymer particles. The most part of the hydrocarbon solvent is passed through the filter face and is recovered through the filtrate outlet line 7. The polymer particles overflowed from the filter 6 is recovered as a wet cake in the hopper 8, and dried in the heating line 10.
