To provide a treating method of a silver halide photographic sensitive material by which the amt. of a fixing replenisher can be decreased even in a system where concentration of a treating liquid proceeds.
In the processes to develop, fix, wash and dry a silver halide photographic sensitive material in an automatic developing machine having a developing tank, a fixing tank and a washing tank having 5 to 40 L total volume, the amt. of a fixing liquid brought by the photosensitive material from the fixing tank to the washing tank is controlled to 10 to 60 ml per 1 m2, and the concn. of hydrogen peroxide in the washing tank is controlled to 0.005 to 0.1 wt.%. If the volume of the washing tank is <5 L, silver sludge precipitates in the washing tank. If the volume exceeds 40 L, much water dross is produced. The volume is preferably 8 to 25 L, and more preferably 10 to 20 L. If the amt. of the fixing liquid brought is <10 ml/m2, the photosensitive material sometimes has scratches in the carrying system, and if the amt. exceeds >60 ml/m2, the photosensitive material sometimes clogs in the drying process. Therefore, the amt. is preferably 15 to 40 ml/m2, and more preferably 20 to 35 ml/m2.
