PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat waste synthetic resins in a large amt. as fuel for furnaces and reducing agents for iron sources without causing problems associated with chlorine-contg. high-polymer resins.
SOLUTION: After the synthetic resins are subjected to a processing treatment to the shape suitable for in-furnace supply, the synthetic resins are supplied as the fuel and/or the reducing agents for the iron sources into the furnaces. In such a case, the processing treatment stage for the synthetic resins includes a stage for obtaining synthetic resin materials (a) which do not substantially contain the chlorine-contg. high-polymer resin materials by separating and removing the chlorine-contg. high-polymer resin materials from the synthetic resins and a stage for heating the separated and removed chlorine-contg. high-polymer resin materials to desorb chlorine from the resins by thermal decomposition and forming the synthetic resin materials (b) which do not substantially contain the chlorine-component and a stage for supplying the synthetic resin materials (a) and the synthetic resin materials (b) as the fuel and/or the reducing agents for the iron sources to the furnaces.
