To develop a therapeutic compound to regulate selectively an immune response, and to treat a T-cell mediated disease.
The present invention relates to the discovery that a certain adverse inflammatory response, an allergic disease, an undesirable immune response including transplant rejection and autoimmune disease, and other disease states, can be treated or prevented by regulating the coupling of the particular chemokines SLC (secondary lymphoid chemokine), and MIP-3β (macrophage inflammatory protein-3b) onto an immune system T cell and a dendritic cell. The present invention also provides a method for screening the therapeutic compound useful in the treatment of SLC mediated and MIP-3β mediated disorders, and the compound detected by such the screening. An appropriate assay is also disclosed.
