Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the mixing of a flocculant or a flocculated liq. and to sufficiently treat turbid water.
SOLUTION: A settling tank 1 and a flotation tank 2 are provided in parallel, the braided contact materials 3 and 4 each having a large void ratio are arranged respectively at the upper parts of the settling tank 1 and flotation tank 2, and treated water Wd is introduced into the upper part of the settling tank 1. As a result, suspended matter contained in the treated water Wd is collected by the fiber bundle, and the collected suspended matter is deposited on the contact material 3 to grow a floc or dropped by gravity and settled as the floc grows. Meanwhile, the water freed from the suspended matter is forcedly introduced into the flotation tank 2 from its bottom to float the oil contained in water, and the oil is brought into contact with contact material 4 and decomposed or separated.
