To provide a method and a device for effectively drying water containing fluid matter having a relatively high viscosity consisting essentially of low melting point material (strained cakes of liquor such as 'shochu (distilled spirits)', syrup, food processing residues or the like) and dry solid matter obtained by the method.
This device consists of a drying part 4 for drying water containing fluid matter consisting essentially of material of ≤200°C melting point, a combustion gas feeding part 1 for feeding combustion gas of 1000-2000°C after complete combustion in the drying part, a fluid matter feeding part 6 for directly contacting the fluid matter with the combustion gas in the drying part, and water feeding part 7 installed if necessary for feeding water into the drying part. In the drying part, the fluid matter is directly contacted with the combustion gas together with water if necessary.
