Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a triazine-based compound shown by a specific formula, low in volatility, excellent in affinity for aromatic ring-bearing polymers, and affording an ultraviolet absorber capable of imparting such polymers with long-term light resistance.
SOLUTION: This triazine-based compound is shown by the formula [R1 is carbonyl, R7O-CO-OR8, CO-OR9O-CO, or R10O-COOR11-OCOOR12 (R7 to R12 are each a 1-8C alkylene or arylene); R2 to R6 are each H, a halogen, hydroxyl, a 1-10C alkyl, alkoxy or alkoxycarbonyl]. This compound is obtained, pref., for example, by reaction between 2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-4,6-diphenyltriazine and diphenyl carbonate.
