PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition containing a triazolobenzodiazepine and useful in the treatment of panic disorder or anxiety disorder. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition contains a compound of formula I R<1> is H, OH, an alkyl, phenyl, (CH2 )m -NR<4> R<5> [R<4> , R<5> are each H, an alkyl; (m) is 1-4], etc.; R<2> is H, an alkyl, phenyl, (CH2 )m -COOR<6> (R<6> is H, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, etc.); R<3> is (CH2 )n R<4> , a group of formula II, III or IV [(n) is 0-4; R<7> is α- or β-naphthyl, phenyl, a group of formula V, VI, VII or VIII (X<2> , X<3> are each H, OH, an alkyl, a halogen, an alkoxy, etc.; X<4> is S, O, CH2 , etc.; X<8> is H, an alkyl), etc.], etc.; R<9> , R<10> are each H, OH, CH3 ; R<13> is H, an alkyl, an acyl, etc.; X<1> is H, NO2 , CF3 , CN, an alkyl, etc.; (p) is 0, 1}, e.g. 6-(2- fluorophenyl)-4-(R)-4-(3'-indolyl)methyl-1-methyl-4H-S-triazo[4,3-a]-1,4- benzodiazepine, as an active ingredient.
