PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tribonectin and a method of tribosupplementation implemented by administering tribonectins directly to an injured or arthritic joint.SOLUTION: The tribonectin comprises at least one O-linked lubricating moiety. For example, the lubricating moiety is a β(1-3)Gal-GalNAc moiety. The method of tribosupplementation is a method of lubrication of mammalian joints and includes contacting the joints with an isolated megakaryocyte stimulating factor (MSF) gene product.SELECTED DRAWING: None
