Abstract:

To obtain a new trimer chimeric protein which is formed by connecting a physiologic active peptide to the amino terminal side of the fibrous collagen having a triple helix structure, maintains the physiologic activity of the physiologic active peptide and has a fiber-forming ability on collagen.

This new trimer chimeric protein is a chimeric protein formed by connecting a collagen with a physiologic active peptide. This physiologic active peptide is connected to the amino terminal side of the collagen and this collagen is a fibrous collagen having a triple helix structure in the triple helix domain. The trimer chimeric protein possesses the physiologic activity of the physiologic active peptide containing cytokinin and the fiber-forming ability on collagen, enables to be utilized in a new sustained-release medicine or the like which decomposes the collagen in vivo and also releases the physiologic active peptide and further is useful as a collagen matrix or the like capable of utilizing as a biomaterial, e.g. a tissue-repairing material or the like, which functions and modifies by the physiologic activity of the physiologic active peptide.
