PURPOSE: To permit machining for trimming and cutting excess thickness with one machine by installing a measuring control device in addition to a tool for eliminating excess thickness and a plane cutting mechanism, in a trimming press for removing burrs of a casting.
CONSTITUTION: A slide member 12 is lowered to the bottom dead point by an actuating cylinder 11, then a gate 2, hole burrs, and an extrusion 3 are removed by tools 13, 14, 15 for eliminating excess thickness and an extrusion 4 is removed by a cutter 16C. Next, a milling cutter motor 25 is stopped, a measuring rod 24 is lowered by a cylinder 23 and its tip is touched to a reference face S1, the obtained value is read by a control device, cutters 17W20 are set in accordance with a value obtained by adding a cutting depth to the above value, a cutting mechanism 21 is lowered to the bottom dead point by a cylinder 22 and machining of the reference faces S1, S2 is made. When a cutting mechanism 21 is not used, change-over is possible. After completion of actions, a work 1 is extracted and if it is found to be good by checking, further work is made by changing over to automatic production. And these actions are controlled by said control device.
