Title:
TRIPHENYLAMINE DERIVATIVE AND ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3180802
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new triphenylamine derivative excellent in heat resistance, not forming a exciplex with an electron transport material and useful as a hole transport material.
SOLUTION: This triphenylamine derivative comprises a triphenylamine derivative of the formula (R1-R6 are each H, an alkyl, a halogenated alkyl, an aryl or the like; &phiv 1 and &phiv 2 are each an aromatic condensed ring), for example, N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis[N-phenyl-N-(2-naphthyl)-4'-aminobiphenyl-4-yl]-1,1'- biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (hereafter, NPTE-1). In order to produce, for example, NPTE-1 as a derivative of the formula, N-phenyl-N-(2-naphthyl)amine is reacted with 4,4'-diiodobiphenyl in the molar ratio of 1:1 to give 4-[N-phenyl-N-(2- naphthyl)]amino-4'-iodobiphenyl and the obtained compound is reacted with N,N'-diphenylbenzidine so that the former is much more than the molar ratio of 2:1.
