To provide a tube end protector wherein a hydraulic test, a drift test and cleaning of an internal surface of a tube can be performed without replacing the tube end protector, and the protector can be simply and recurely mounted.

The tube end protector 11 is to be mounted on a tube end threaded part of a tube formed with a screw thread at an end. The protector comprises a cylindrical protector body 12 formed with an external thread 12a to be screwed with the tube end threaded part of the tube and having both ends opened and an inner plug 13 to be fitted in the protector body 12 for closing the opening. At least one of the body 12 and the plug 13 is formed of an elastic substance. Widths w1, w2 and a depth d or a height h of a fitting groove 12b of the protector body 12 and an annular projection 13a of the inner plug 13 to be fitted in the groove 12b are all 1 to 4 mm. The hydraulic test, the drift test and cleaning of the internal surface of the tube is performed with only the protector body mounted on the tube end. The inner plug is fitted into the protector body by a one-touch operation for transportation, whereby foreign matters can be prevented from entering the tube, thus improving operativity.
