PURPOSE: To prevent selvages from loosening in forming tuck selvages, by setting an axial line of a jetting stream from a tuck-in nozzle so as to form an acute angle to a cloth fell line, blowing a weft yarn into openings of warp yarns and forming tuck selvages.

CONSTITUTION: An axial line 31 of a jetting stream from a tuck-in nozzle 29 is set so as to form an acute angle (θ) to a cloth fell line 16. The jetting stream acts such that the tip parts of weft yarn ends may be pressed against the cloth fell line. Thereby, the tip parts of weft yarn ends are held at positions closer to the cloth fell line than the base ends of the weft yarn ends without pulling in the tips parts of the weft yarn ends to the sides of base ends by tension of warp yarns 13 on the selvage parts.
