Abstract:

To provide a tundish upper nozzle structure that allows inclusions to float up within a tundish, and a method of continuous casting.SOLUTION: A tundish upper nozzle structure includes a flange-like part 12 that is provided greater than the outer shape of a top end of a tundish upper nozzle 11 in a part or entire of an outer periphery of the top end of the tundish upper nozzle and one or a plurality of gas exit ports 13a, 13b that are provided in any one or a plurality of surfaces out of lower, outer peripheral and upper surfaces of the flange-like part 12 and of an outer peripheral surface of the tundish upper nozzle 11 below the flange-like part 12. By adjusting the length L in the tundish upper nozzle structure, nearly all of gas is floated up, or the flow rate toward the lower side of an inner hole 11a and the float-up amount of the gas is adjusted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
