Abstract:
To provide a tungsten complex which is useful as a component of a catalyst for achieving well-controlled polymerization for example in ring-opening metathesis polymerization of a cyclic olefin compound, and to provide a metathesis reaction catalyst including the tungsten complex.
The tungsten complex is represented by formula (1) (wherein each of R1 and R2 is independently a group selected from a 1-24C alkyl group optionally including a substituent and a 6-24C aryl group optionally including a substituent, R1 and R2 may optionally be bonded together so as to form an alicyclic structure, each of Xs independently is a ligand selected from a halogen atom, an aryloxy ligand, an alkoxy ligand, and an alkyl ligand, and n is an integer of 1 to 3).
