Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of excavation operation by lightening a burden applied to an operator.
SOLUTION: Copy cutters 18 are projected and retreated to and from the outside from a cutter head 12 while driving and rotating the cutter head 12 installed at the front end section of an excavator body 11, and corner cutters 20 mounted on both sides of the lower section of the front end are turned. A tunnel having a specified-shaped cross section is excavated while cutting the outer circumferential surface of a segment forming a pair of existing tunnels T1, T2 by propelling the excavator body 1.
