Title:
TURBINE BLADE COOLING METHOD FOR JET ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0255838
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To permit blade cooling to increase its degree by partly supplying cooling air of high temperature from a compressor to be cooled by the atmospheric air through a heat exchanger.

CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger 14, surrounded by an air-introducing cover 13, is mounted to the outside surface of a casing 8 in a jet engine. In this way, a flow of the atmospheric air along an external surface of the casing 8 passes through the heat exchanger 14, serving as the cooling air, and cooling air, partly supplied from an air compressor 1, is cooled. This cooling air passes through a moving blade 6 and a stationary blade 4 being cooled. Accordingly, blade cooling can be improved.
