Title:
TURBOCHARGER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2628148
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure higher flexibility and wider applicability of turbochargers by outlining them in view of flow and disposing an at least partially fixed ring in the turbine flow passage to define two annular nozzles.
CONSTITUTION: A volute type single-flow turbine housing 2a encircling an impeller 7 of a turbine stage 2 and a volute type single-flow compressor housing 3a encircling a radial-flow impeller 5 of a compressor stage 3 are flange-coupled to constitute a turbocharger housing. The exhaust gas flow is lead to the impeller 7 radially and obliquely in annular-nozzle-shaped outlet areas 12 having annular nozzles 12a and 12b. In the outlet areas 12, variably divisible guide cascades 13 and 14 are placed. In the curved area that are delimited by the intersections whereat the divisible guide cascade 13 meets oblique cutting planes 19 and 20, a ring 21 is disposed comprising a ring portion 22 coupled to guide vane portions 15a and 16a and a second ring portion 23 coupled to guide vane portions 15b and 16b.
