To provide a turning method for gouging which can be used to cut into the deepest section of a very narrow and very deep configuration portion like the gallery of a piston head for a compact diesel engine made of high tension steel, for instance, without giving any deformation to a work-piece, and a cutting tool holder suitable for its method.
This is a method used to turn a gouging configuration against a rotational work-piece by using at least an NC machine, and the turning method for the gouging by which the turning for the gouging configuration can be carried out by setting the coordinates (X, Y) of the gouging configuration to be turned on the same plane including a main shaft 8 in the NC machine for the above work-piece 9, by further dividing the gouging configuration into a plurality of portions, by selecting a cutting tool holder 10 by which each partitionary configuration can be turned, by providing a tip 11 and mounting on a tool shaft 12, by starting the turning along the coordinates from an entrance partition in the above gouging configuration and by changing the cutting tool holder every time one partitionary turning is finished, and the cutting tool holder applicable to this method.
