To provide a turret type winder capable of preventing a member of a yarn transferring device from touching the package in the process to transfer the yarn, shortening the time of the yarn transferring motion, and shortening the yarn treating time of the package facial layer part in the next process.

The winder is equipped with a turret member 2 installed rotatably on the machine frame 1, bobbin holders 3 and 4 installed rotatably on the turret member 2, a traversing device 6 to traverse the yarn, a pressure contact roll 7 to abut to the bobbin held by the bobbin holders with a certain contacting pressure, and the yarn transferring device 8 to transfer the yarn from the full bobbin to an empty, wherein a motion restricting member 16 to restrict the transferring motion of the yarn transferring device is installed on at least either of the turret member 2 and yarn transferring device 8.
