To provide a casting drum composed of a Cu-alloy made sleeve and an SUS-made core light in weight, free from the sliding of a fitting part in thermal loading, and long in durable life, in a twin drum type continuous casting drum used for twin drum type continuous casting equipment.
By constituting the SUS made core, which is fitted into a Cu- alloy made sleeve, of ring-shaped cores juxtaposed in the axial direction with a space with one another as a plurality of splitted bodies, the sleeve is movable in the axial direction at the part where the core does not exist, and the relative sliding on the fitting part becomes hard to be caused at the part where the core exists owing to that the length in the axial direction of the fitting part of the sleeve and the core is cut to be short, as a result, enabling the tightening force to be small in fitting of the sleeve and the core, which enables the sleeve to be formed thin.
