PURPOSE: To obtain a thin two-dimensional value input device to which a waterproof function or the like can be easily added and having less restrictions in application by arranging a conductor with plane construction and a resistor with plane construction face to face so as to be brought into contact with each other by means of applying pressure, providing terminals for applying voltage at the four corners of the resistor and providing an out terminal for conductor.

CONSTITUTION: A plane conductor 3 is arranged in parallel with a square insulating substrate 1 fact to face with spaces 2 between, uniform resistor 4 forms a layer on the top of the insulating substrate 1 and terminals 5 to 8 for applying voltage is provided at the four corners of the resistor 4. The plane conductor 3 is brought into contact with the resistor 4 beneath by means of applying pressure and the plane conductor 3 is provided with a output terminal 11. By changing over switches 12a and 12b with a control input from an input terminal 13 and changing over the voltage to be applied to the terminals 5 to 8, the position in the directions of x and y axes perpendicular to each other can be detected in order. Thus, the device can be constructed in thin shape, the waterproof function or the like can be easily added to it and the restrictions in application can be reduced.
