Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an adhesive which has good initial pressure-sensitive adhesiveness and cohesive strength and which, after being cured, exhibits high bonding strength and cohesive strength and has good water resistance, heat resistance and solvent resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic substantially amine-terminated and piperazine- or polyetherdiamine-containing polyamide (A) having a total of an amine value and an acid value of about 1 to 50 and having amine groups excess over the acid groups is mixed with an epoxy resin (B) to obtain a composition having an initial ratio of the free amine groups of component A to the epoxy groups of component B of 1/1 to 10/1. Component A comprises 30-100 equivalent % of polymerized resin acid, 0-70 equivalent % 6-22C linear dicarboxylic acid, 0-70 equivalent % 2-22C monocarboxylic acid, 12-95 equivalent % 2-12C aliphatic polyamine and 7-90 equivalent % piperazine-containing polyamine.
