PURPOSE: To provide a two-stroke cycle lubricant useful in a two-stroke cycle engine, which comprises an oil of lubricating viscosity, and a specific amount of a mixture and a nitrogen-containing inhibitor, etc., and which is excellent in suppressing piston ring attachment and reduction in formation of corrosion, and the like.

CONSTITUTION: A lubricant composition comprises at least one oil of lubricating viscosity, an amount, sufficient to reduce or prevent piston scuffing, of a mixture of (A) (i) an aminophenol and (ii) a reaction product of a nitrophenol and an amino compound and (B) at least one Mannich dispersant, amine dispersant, nitrogen-containing carboxylic dispersant, or ester dispersant, further with (C) an amount, sufficient to reduce degradation caused by oxygen or nitrogen oxide, of a nitrogen-containing inhibitor, a hindered phenol inhibitor or a sulfur- containing organic inhibitor. It is preferred that the component A is contained in an amount of about 2.5 to 15 wt.% of the composition, the component B is in the range of about 2.5 to 15 wt.%, and the content C is in the range of about 0.2 to 2 wt.%.
